2008: There was a 68 year old carpenter that was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He was exposed to asbestos from 1959 to 2000 while working in Pennsylvania. He was exposed to a variety of building materials including joint compounds, ceiling tiles and floor tiles. The case settled with all but one defendant for the gross amount of $2,221,250.00, prior to fees of $888,500.00 and costs of $150,249.81. At trial, we were able to obtain a $7 Million verdict against the last defendant, which has appealed.
2008: There was a 62 year old steelworker that was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He was exposed to asbestos from 1974 to 1979 in Western Pennsylvania. He was primarily exposed to hot top products which were utilized in the steel making process. The case settled for the gross amount of $2,220,000.00, prior to fees of $888,000.00 and costs of $18,420.16.
2008: There was a 66 year old painter that was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He was exposed to asbestos from 1959 to 2004 in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He was exposed to a variety of products including insulation, joint compound, gaskets and cement. The case settled with all but one defendant and the case was tried against the last defendant for a $4 Million verdict. Within 48 hours of the verdict, the trial defendant settled the case. The case settled with all defendants for the gross amount of $2,129,462.50, prior to fees of $851,785.00 and costs of $196,523.00.
2008: There was a 61 year old engineer that was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He was exposed to asbestos in 1972 and 1973 while working at a power plant in West Virginia. He was exposed to a variety of asbestos products including insulation and gaskets. The case settled for the gross amount of $2,125,000.00, prior to fees of $703,333.00 and costs of $127,191.79.
2008: There was a 71 year old boilermaker and welder that was diagnosed with mesothelioma. He was exposed to asbestos from 1955 to 1987 while working at various power plants and steel plants in West Virginia. He was exposed to a variety of asbestos products including insulation, gaskets, boilers, turbines, and valves. The case settled for the gross amount of $2,325,000.00, prior to fees of $775,000.00 and costs of $88,714.17.
